BBC Radio 1 has announced more than 25 acts for the Hackney weekend festival. Ed Sheeran, Professor Green and Jessie J are among those confirmed for the two-day Hackney Marshes event. BBC Radio 1's Hackney Weekend 2012 will take place on 23 and 24 June with 100,000 tickets available. The location for the event was chosen to mark the 2012 Olympics, which start in east London a month later. Other additions to the festival include Chase & Status, David Guetta, Dappy, Will.i.am, Labrinth, Jack White, Emeli Sande and Lana Del Rey. Artists previously announced include Leona Lewis, Plan B, Florence & The Machine, and Tinie Tempah.

Dizzee Rascal will headline this summer's Splendour festival in Nottingham.The event, which takes place in the city's Wollaton Park on July 21, will also feature performances from Razorlight, Katy B and The Levellers. More acts will be unveiled for the festival's line-up in the coming months.

Biffy Clyro, Soundgarden and Chase & Status are among the latest wave of bands announced for the Download festival. The additions to the line-up were revealed by Radio 1 DJs Zane Lowe and Daniel P. Carter on Monday evening. Other acts set to play at Donington Park include Tenacious D, You Me At Six and Machine Head. The Prodigy, Metallica and Black Sabbath had already been announced as headliners for the June festival.

The Cure have announced three festival headline shows for this summer. The band, who headlined Bestival event last September, have confirmed that they will be appearing at Hultsfred festival in Sweden alongside The Stone Roses as well as German festivals Southside and Hurricane. The Cure are expected to announce a number of further festival shows in the coming weeks, but have not been strongly linked with any of the UK's major festivals thus far.
