Russell Turned Down Katy Marriage Pleas
Russell Brand is said to have turned down estranged wife Katy Perry's pleas to save their 14 month marriage. According to The Mirror, she 'begged' Brand to meet with her in LA last week and suggested they go to counselling instead of divorcing, but the comedian told her she should move on. A source informed the tabloid "Her girlfriends are apparently organising a 'newly single' party for her but she doesn't really like the idea, "She has been quite down. She really thought she could sort it out with Russell. Even with the divorce papers being served she was convinced that a meeting could make him realise why they fell in love."

Cowell To Launch DJ Talent Search
Simon Cowell has announced that he will be launching a new TV talent show which aims "to find the world's greatest DJ's". The show, which does not yet have a title, will operate in a similar manner to the X Factor, with DJs battling it out to secure fame and fortune, reports Music Week.

Wretch 32 "Angry" At Brits Snub
Wretch 32 has revealed that he was "angry" at being snubbed by this year's Brit Awards. The rapper told the Daily Star that he had been unhappy at not picking up any nominations for this year's ceremony and said it would have been "huge" to have been in the running for the awards. He went on to add: "It's sad not to be nominated, but if you're not in the running when everybody knows you should have been, then that's cool. When you get massive love from supporters, none of the other stuff matters. "It may look like someone's had overnight success, but that's never the case. People don't realise how hard it is to get here." The Brit Awards take place on 21st February from London’s O2 arena.

The Cure Confirm Festival Shows For This Summer
The Cure have announced three festival headline shows for this summer. The band, who headlined the UK’s Bestival event last September, have confirmed that they will be appearing at festivals in Sweden and Germany. They are expected to announce a number of further festival shows in the coming weeks.

O'Conner Checks Herself Into Hospital
Sinead O'Connor has checked herself into hospital following her attempted suicide earlier this month after struggling to cope with the breakdown of her 16-day marriage. The singer told fans on Twitter that she was in desperate need of some psychiatric help and is hoping that going to hospital will help.

Brit Awards Nominations Revealed
Ed Sheeran has been nominated for a huge four awards at this year’s Brit Awards. The 20-year-old is up for best male, breakthrough act, best single for The A Team, and best album for his debut record, which is called +. Jessie J is up for three awards - best female, breakthrough act and best single for her hit Price Tag. Organisers have also announced that Adele will perform live again at this year's ceremony on 21st February at the O2 arena. The singer is also nominated in three categories - best female, best single for Someone Like You and best album for 21. 50 Cent Post's Bizarre Pictures Of Jay-Z Baby
50 Cent has caused controversy by posting some bizarre joke pictures of Beyonce and Jay-Z's new baby daughter Blue Ivy Carter. The rapper tweeted from his account "congratulations to Jay-Z and Beyonce baby. Blue Ivy Carter is gorgeous." He then tweeted a series of photoshopped pictures of Jay-Z's face superimposed onto a newborn baby.

Madonna has been accused of glamorising drugs after it was revealed she plans to call her next album MDNA. Anti-drugs campaigners say it is too close to the chemical name for ecstasy which is known as MDMA. A source for Madonna said the album titled related to Madonna’s name and has no link to the drug.

Beyonce Gives Birth To Baby Girl
Beyonce has given birth to a baby girl. The star and her husband, rapper Jay-Z, are said to have welcomed their daughter into the world at a hospital in New York last night.  E! News claims that the child was delivered by C-section and is also reporting that Jay-Z has told his friends that her name will be Ivy Blue Carter.

Aggro Santos, A Brazilian-born rapper and former contestant on I'm a Celebrity, is to stand trial after pleading not guilty to raping two women. The 23 year-old is accused of the rapes in September 2010. He was granted conditional bail and told he would stand trial on 13th August.
