Kerrang Awards 2013
Rock legends and rising metal talent were all honoured at the 20th annual Kerrang! Awards. Scottish rockers Biffy Clyro won best album for their number one record Opposites. Best British band went to Sheffield's Bring Me The Horizon. Lower Than Atlantis collected the Kerrang! for best British newcomer but frontman Mike Duce experienced some heckling when the band collected their gong. Less Drink For Glasto Revellers
Glastonbury Festival organiser Michael Eavis says he would prefer music fans to "drink much less" at the event. Festival-goers have been known to take wheelbarrows and trolleys of alcohol on to the site at Worthy Farm in Somerset. Ticket-holders for this month's event got an email warning them not to bring alcohol in a "wheeled device". In a message later on the event website Mr Eavis sought to clarify the policy by saying trolleys would be allowed but drink should be for personal use.

Ted Mumford Has Brain Op
Mumford & Sons bassist Ted Dwane has been released from hospital after an operation to remove a blood clot from his brain. A statement on the band's official Facebook page read "The surgery went well, and the excellent medical team helping him are very pleased with his progress." The 28-year-old was taken to hospital earlier after being described as 'feeling unwell' for several days.

Paris Jackson's Suicide Attempt
Paris Jackson, the daughter of the late Michael Jackson, was in hospital after attempting to kill herself. Her grandfather's publicist said that the 15 year old is "doing good" and recovering. Now a judge overseeing the guardianship of Michael Jackson's children has ordered an inquiry into Paris Jackson's wellbeing. He has asked an investigator to look into Paris’ health and welfare. A lawyer for Katherine Jackson, Paris's grandmother, said he was "completely supportive" of the court order.

Tulisa Arrested On Suspicion Of Supplying Drugs
The former X Factor judge and N-Dubz star Tulisa Contostavlos has been bailed after being arrested on suspicion of supplying class A drugs. She had been accused by a newspaper, who said she had introduced their reporter to a drug dealer. Tulisa and another were then arrested on suspicion of supplying class-A drugs. The police have since confirmed that both people have been bailed, pending further inquiries, until a date later in July.

Little Mix Set New Record In U.S
Little Mix have broken an American chart record set by girlband legends the Spice Girls with their debut release, DNA. The X Factor 2011 winner's album has reached No.4 on the US Billboard Chart, meaning that they have become the first British girl group ever to have a LP debut within the top 5 on the US Billboard 200.

Rolling Stones Want Glasto Gig on BBC Reduced
The BBC has said it is having "ongoing conversations" with the Rolling Stones over how much of their Glastonbury performance can be broadcast on TV. Press reports suggested the band had refused to let their full set be aired. "Discussions with artists are business as usual for this stage of our festival planning," a BBC spokesperson said. Speaking to The Independent, the BBC's head of music television Mark Cooper said the rock legends were "nervous about how much they should share". The Stones, he told the paper, were "stepping out of their comfort zone".

The Voice's Danny Calls 'Fix' Claims Lies
The Voice coach Danny O'Donoghue has rubbished claims that he and rival Jessie J conspired to keep one of her contestants on the show as claimed in The Sun. He insisted that there was no truth to the story and told The Mirror "Apparently me and Jessie had a secret conversation about Alex. Bieber Hit With Second Paternity Claim
Justin Bieber has been hit with his second paternity claim by a 25-year-old woman who says her daughter, born in October 2010, is Justin’s. She claims the pair met at TGI Friday's in Miami and then went back to his hotel room, where she claims they slept together. A source told US Star magazine "She gave birth to a baby girl later that year, and Justin didn't know anything about it. "She just wanted to protect her baby. She wanted to keep her and her family away from any spotlight”.

Blue Go Bankrupt
Boyband Blue have reportedly gone bust at a crucial point during their comeback to music. The band have called in administrators for their company Blueworld Ltd, which went bust on May 1st. Blueworld also runs the band’s website and their fan club, with claims that subscribers are unlikely to get a refund for their £45 membership fee. A spokeperson claims this will not affect the bands tour claiming that “A new tour starts in October and we have already had to add new dates”

George Michael "Lucky He Didn't Die "
The Sun newspaper reported how a driver revealed she nearly ran over George Michael after he fell from his car on the M1 at around 70mph last week. Katherine Fox skidded to a halt as the singer slammed into the carriageway. She said “He was lucky he didn’t die.” She said George lay dazed and covered in blood, his clothes ripped and his training shoes torn off along with his trademark designer sunglasses. George continued to receive treatment in hospital this week.

Denmark Win 2013 Eurovision
Denmark triumphed at this year's Eurovision Song Contest, held in the Swedish city of Malmo. 20 year-old Emmelie de Forest had been the overwhelming favourite among the 26 entries, with her song Only Teardrops. Second in the vote was Azerbaijan's Farid Mammadov, who was 47 points behind the winner. The UK's Believe In Me came 19th place with 23 points. Bonnie Tyler has said "I'm sure a lot of people will be disappointed on my behalf but I have really enjoyed my Eurovision experience". Ireland came last this year with just five points.

Ivor Novello Awards 2013
Emeli Sande scooped two prizes at this year's Ivor Novello songwriting awards. Her hit song ‘Next To Me’ was named best song musically and lyrically, and also won the prize for most performed work. George Michael Air-Lifted To Hospital
George Michael was airlifted to hospital with a head injury following a crash on the M1. He remains in hospital after the crash at junction 6A, near St Albans, Hertfordshire. A spokesman for the singer confirmed he had been involved in an accident but said the singer only had "superficial cuts" and was "fine". George was a passenger in a Range Rover and no other vehicles were involved.

Former Oasis rocker, Liam Gallagher seems to be mellowing with age after it was reported that he has requested VIP tickets so he can attend this year's Chelsea Flower Show. Sharon Osbourne has agreed a £1.5million deal to return to the UK version of X Factor, according to press reports. She has apparently agreed terms this week and ITV bosses are already drafting an announcement. According to reports the 60-year-old will replace Tulisa who has reportedly been told she will not return. Justin Bieber is being sued in America for copyright infringement. R&B singer Devin Copeland, known professionally as De Rico, and songwriter Mareio Overton have filed a lawsuit in Virginia claiming that they came up with the song ‘Somebody to Love’. The lawsuit also accuses the singer's mentor, Usher, of giving the song to the teen pop star.

Jackson Death Trial Starts
Michael Jackson was driven to an early death because concert promoters were desperate for him to make them money, a court heard this week. Launching a $40 billion lawsuit by the Jackson family, lawyer Brian Panish said bosses at AEG “didn’t care who got lost in the wash”. It has also been reported in the press that the singer was scared, riddled with self loathing and doubt and a paralysed mess after apparently drinking six bottles of wine a day.

JLS Split
JLS have announced that they are splitting up after five years together. They found fame after appearing on The X Factor. In a statement on their official website they thanked their fans. "We wanted to make sure that you heard it from the four of us, that we have decided to bring our time as a band to an end," the statement said. The band also said they would put together a greatest hits album with a new single to coincide with a farewell tour. They went on to say "We will always remain brothers and friends and we will always be your boys”. Band founder, Oritse Williams broke down when they appeared on Alan Carr’s Chatty Man show to talk about the split.

Jackson Trial To Begin This Week
A civil trial in which Michael Jackson's family is suing concert promoters AEG is to begin this week, court officials have confirmed. Jackson's family is suing AEG for wrongful death, claiming the company was responsible for the star's death in 2009 because it hired Dr Conrad Murray. A jury of six men and six women has been selected for the Los Angeles trial, which may last up to six months.

Ozzy Osbourne Reveals He Has Been In "Dark Place"
Ozzy Osbourne has denied reports he and wife Sharon are divorcing but has admitted to being "in a very dark place" since 2011. He revealed in a Facebook message "For the last year and a half I have been drinking and taking drugs" The singer apologised to his family and friends for his "insane behaviour" and announced he was "now 44 days sober". The Wanted's Nathan Sykes had surgery on Thursday, his 20th birthday, and said he was "overwhelmed" by the support he's had from his fans. He had specialist surgery to fix a vocal cord haemorrhage, the same problem Adele had in 2011. It is now thought that he will be on voice rest for at least a month.

Girls Aloud star Sarah Harding has been given a six-month driving ban after pleading guilty to using her mobile phone while driving. Madonna Hits Back After Bully Claims
Malawi has accused Madonna of "bullying state officials" after she reportedly complained about her treatment on a visit to the country. Madonna, who has adopted two Malawian-born children, recently visited 10 primary schools funded by her charity. The government accused the star of exaggerating her contribution to the country and demanding VIP treatment. Sir Paul McCartney has topped the Sunday Times Rich List of musicians with the £680m fortune he shares with his wife Nancy Shevell. Joss Stone Plotters Sentenced
Two men have been convicted of plotting to kill singer Joss Stone, it has been confirmed. Both Junior Bradshaw and Kevin Liverpool of Manchester were found guilty of planning to kill, injure and rob the singer at her Devon home. The jury took just four hours to deliver their unanimous verdict at Exeter Crown Court. Kevin Liverpool will be jailed for life, however, sentencing of Junior Bradshaw has been adjourned. Joss has told of her relief saying that “these men are no longer in a position to cause harm to anyone”

Harry McFly Reveals Heart Condition
Harry Judd from McFly has revealed he's developed a minor heart condition through training for this month's London marathon. He tweeted that he's "acquired an ectopic heart beat through excessive exercise." He went on to say "It's known as a Wandering Pacemaker commonly seen in athletes....it's really annoying!!!" The McFly drummer added that "it's nothing to worry about but just means I have to chill out a bit."

Dappy In New Nightclub Fight

Rolling Stones To Play Glastonbury
The Rolling Stones have been named as one of the three headline acts for the Glastonbury Festival 2013. It will be the first time the Rolling Stones have played at the festival at Worthy Farm in Somerset, which will draw about 135,000 people. The other headline acts at the festival, taking place on the final weekend of June, are Mumford and Sons and the Arctic Monkeys. Michael Eavis has described getting the Stones to the festival as “winning the World Cup”

Bieber Monkey Seized
Justin Bieber has had his pet monkey seized by customs at a German airport. He sneaked the primate into Europe on his private jet and reportedly faces prosecution in Munich as he did not have the correct papers for his monkey, named Mally, which is now in quarantine. A source told The Sun "Justin is out of control and lives in an alternative reality to the rest of us. He didn’t think about the potential risks of flying a monkey from one continent to another”.

Joss Stone Murder Plotters Stand Trail
The trial of the two men accused of a plot to kill singer Joss Stone has been taking place. They were carrying a sword, a lock knife, a hammer and notes of their intentions, a court has heard. The pair was arrested in June 2011 in Cullompton, Devon, close to her house. Joss apparently only became aware of an alleged plot to murder her when police visited her after two suspects were arrested. The trial, which is expected to last up to three weeks, continues.

Memorable Week In UK For Bieber
Justin Bieber has been in the UK for the past week and causing a real stir. The singer was strongly criticised by fans and parents after he was late on stage at two gigs. He was two hours late on stage at his O2 gig. A few evenings later he had to leave the stage due to breathing difficulties and was admitted to hospital to recover and to end the week he clashed with a photographer launching into a foal mouthed tirade. Welsh pop singer Bonnie Tyler has been confirmed as the UK representative at the 2013 Eurovision Song Contest. Anastacia In Second Cancer Battle
Anastacia has been forced to cancel her European tour after being diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time. The 44-year-old made a full recovery in 2003 after being treated with surgery and radiotherapy. "I feel so awful to be letting down all my amazing fans. The Brits 2013
This week saw the Brit Awards take place in the O2 arena in London and was hosted by James Corden for a third year. It was a very civilised ceremony this year with very well behaved pop stars. Paloma Faith did swear at reporters on the red carpet though, accusing them of not wanting to talk to her in favour of One Direction. Adele picked up the award for Best Single with Skyfall but had to send in a speech as she is currently in America for The Oscars. Making a jibe about having her speech cut short last year Adele said "'I don't want to keep you too much because I don't want to interrupt the best album speech at the end of the night". A comment greeted by gasps from the audience. This year’s event featured great performances from Justin Timberlake, Muse, Robbie Williams, One Direction, Taylor Swift, Ben Howard, Mumford And Sons and Emeli Sande. The big winner at this year’s Brits was Ben Howard who picked up two awards for British Male and British Breakthrough Act. Emeli Sande also collected two gongs for British Female and Album Of The Year. Mumford And Sons won Best Group while Coldplay were honoured with Best Live Act. No Decisions Made About X Factor Judges
No decision has been made on the future of the judging line-up of The X Factor, an ITV spokesman has said. It follows reports that judge Tulisa and possibly Louis are to be replaced on the panel. Dappy Avoids Jail
Dappy has been given a six-month sentence, suspended for 18 months over assault and affray charges. The 25-year-old N-Dubz star broke down in tears and shouted "yes" after avoiding a jail term at Guildford Crown Court in Surrey. The singer has been ordered to do 150 hours community service and was also told to pay £4,500 compensation and £2,000 in costs. Dappy, whose real name is Costadinos Contostavlos, had faced a maximum sentence of three years imprisonment.

Beyonce Shuts Up Critics At Super Bowl

Boomtown Rats To Reunite
Bob Geldof is to front a reunited Boomtown Rats at the Isle of Wight Festival, 26 years after last performing with the band. Calvin Harris Named As Top Songwriter For A Second Year
Calvin Harris has been named the most successful songwriter in the UK singles chart for the second year in a row. Dappy has been found guilty of affray and one count of assault. The 25-year-old N-Dubz star appeared at a Crown Court along with two other men. A rich list of re-formed bands was printed in The Sun newspaper this week. It listed Take That as the richest with £130 million, The Spice Girls in second with a whopping £25 million. Blur were next with £15m followed by the Stone Roses with 12m and Steps with £10m.

A college course has been launched to help wannabe musician’s succeed in X Factor auditions. The 17-week programme that gives tuition in singing and confidence will end just in time for the talent shows 2013 auditions.

Brit Awards Nominations 2013
Emeli Sande has received four nominations for the 2013 Brit Awards. The star, who had the best-selling album in the UK last year, is up for best female, best album and has two tracks in the best single category. There were three nominations each for Mumford and Sons and Alt-J. Rita Ora also has three nominations, including two in the best single list, while Muse, Paloma Faith, Plan B and Olly Murs are up for two prizes each. The Brits take place on 20th February. Adele Given Oscar Nod
This year's Oscars nominations have been announced, in a live online broadcast, and Adele has been nominated for the Best Original Song award after receiving a nomination for her Bond theme 'Skyfall'. The singer celebrated the news with a tweet saying “Oh my god I feel like Meryl Streep!! Thank you x”

Second Baby For Lily Allen
Lily Allen has given birth to her second child, a baby girl apparently named Marnie Rose. According to The Sun, the singer and husband Sam Cooper welcomed Marnie to their family on 8th January - the birthday of Lily's musical heroes Elvis and David Bowie.

McFly Wedding Speech Song
McFly star Tom Fletcher has posted a video of the speech he made at his wedding last year, which shows him singing to some of the group's biggest hits. Baby Joy For Kanye
The Sun reported how Kim Kardashian told of her joy after confirming she is having a baby with boyfriend Kanye West. TV star Kim said “We feel so blessed and lucky.” She reportedly fell pregnant following a visit to the Vatican after rapper Kanye, 35, took her to Rome for her 32nd birthday. Excited Kanye blurted out Kim’s baby news at a concert, then moved her to tears by serenading her.

Nathan's Twitter Rant At Troll
The Wanted star Nathan Sykes has apparently insulted a fan who had criticised the boy band on Twitter. A member of the public had tweeted the band's official account to say "you can't even sing. Glee did a better version of your song than you #yousuck." And Nathan appears not to have realised he was logged into the band's Twitter account when he replied saying "smile, you got a face like a smacked arse ..." The user has since deleted their profile on the social networking site, but Nathan laughed the incident off.

Photographer Killed Taking Bieber Pictures
A photographer has been killed after being hit by a vehicle while taking pictures of Justin Bieber's sports car. Police say the paparazzo died in hospital. Justin was not in his car at the time of the crash. Police also said that no charges are likely to be filed against the motorist who hit the photographer.
